With over a decade of experience in interior design and the arts, Sandra Kay, principal of Sandra Smith Designs, has built and shaped her business into the award-winning, innovative design company it is today. From interior design to custom, commissioned art pieces, Sandra Kay is ever-evolving and constantly creating evocative works and aesthetically entrancing designs that have defined her distinct style and ushered her name around the city of Houston and state of Texas. From homes to offices and hospitality spaces, Sandra's essence can be experienced in both her designs and art that adorns residential and commercial properties. 

Originally a student of interior design and architecture at the University of Houston, Sandra holds a bachelors degree in interior design with a minor in architecture and has extensive studies in art and architectural history. 

An Allied Member ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and a current student at the Glassell School of Art, Sandra has committed herself to refine her skills and knowledge to stay at the forefront of her industry and provide unparalleled service and quality to her clients.

Sandra’s eye for design and ability to mix and meld trends has garnered her multiple awards, including having her worked published in Southern Home in 2018, Home Style Magazine and interviewed for Metropolitan Builders.

Coupled with that, Sandra won the Robert Allen 2013 Design Vision Grand Prize Winner of Color Competition and was Published in Perspectives on Design Southwest in 2010.

Sandra's approach to design focuses on creating a space that is comforting, elegant and unique to each client's taste. Her timeless interiors are never overdone; they're a reflection of her creativity and clients' inclinations melded together for a one-of-a-kind design experience. Whatever the architectural style, Sandra creates a flow from one room to another in ways that feel natural, effortless and timeless.
